Love As High As The Moon

Love is the most important thing in life. Our world is in desperate need of it. I believe love is not an emotion, but an action. I know Cinderella would disagree with me. Love is often confused with romance and passion, which are good things to feel in life. Who does not like the fluttery feeling you get in your heart, the first time you kiss your soul mate?  Love does not choose us, we choose it. Our days are full of opportunities to love the people that cross our path. If we always chose to put it in motion the world would be a different place!

This is the real definition of love. Love is kind and patient. It does not envy or boast, and it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres I got this definition of love from an old book, the greatest love story ever told. The book is called the Bible.

Today choose to love your spouse, children, mom, dad, friends and even the people who are not your friends. Yes, even the ones who are hard to love. You know the ones I am talking about. I have them in my life, and I am sure I am not alone.  If we would choose to love like this, what would the world look like? Love is not easy. I think it’s something I will be trying to master my whole life. When I look at the definition of this thing called love, I see words like long suffering, not easily angered, and trust. It is safe to say I am still working on it.

I am committing myself to trying, learning to act, responding in love and saying sorry a lot along the way when I mess up. I want to change the world, don’t you? Let us choose to love as big as we can and as high as the moon.
