My First Big Canvas

It has been a big week for me. I’m feeling pretty official because I have my business license now and am renting two spaces inside Homespun. I get to work on my second space the 15th of this month.  I feel nervous, and excited, all in one breath. You know I am all about following dreams and as I keep taking steps (even if they are small) It seems to bring freedom to my spirit. Don’t get me wrong, this creative journey is a roller coaster ride some days. Some days I’m high and see so clear, and on others I’m low, blindly marching forward, just hoping for the best.

One of the things I love most in my grand adventure is meeting people along the way. Togetherness is so important, I truly believe that we are better together than alone. When you are just starting in something new it can be a bit lonely.  There are lots of times you have to be brave in new beginnings, I am still, kind of, in these places because we just moved, so anytime I come across a kind heart or a kindred spirt it makes my day. There are a few ladies I have met at Homespun who have shown me so much encouragement and tenderness. I am pretty sure they have no idea just how much my heart needed them. In all of my newness I am always asking them questions and they have been a great source of help. It makes me so proud to be part of such a good place.

Over Christmas break I have been making my first big canvas. Mixed media is my first love in all of my art and I am so happy with how it turned out. It is going to hang in my house as a heart-reminder to keep dreaming. I hope that I will always believe and fight for the things that make my heart come alive, and I hope you will be dream chasers with me!
